Kobe vs. MJ posted on 04/29/2008

Listen, this has been talked about a lot in recent years.  I know there still are plenty of MJ-lovers (myself included) and there are just as many Kobe-lovers as well.  I know Kobe's career is a long way from over.  I know that he's gonna re-write the record books (as will Lebron).  I know he scored 80-something in a game.  He's the best player in the NBA right now.  But come on!!  Saying he's better than Michael Jordan?  Kobe wasn't even unanimous as the second-best shooting guard of all time in ESPN's recent voting.  I may be wrong, but I get the feeling that a lot of the bloggers here pay some attention to Bill Simmons, aka The Sports Guy.  He even voted Kobe third behind Jerry West.  http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/dailydime?page=dime-GreatestSGs

Tiger Woods is under-appreciated posted on 04/28/2008

Yep, you heard me right.  Tiger Woods is under-appreciated.  He may be appreciated by the die-hard sports and golf fans and some of the media.  But, by and large, I don't think so.  For those that have given golf a try, you know how hard it is.  For those that have played it at a high level competitively, it's absolutely astonishing what Tiger is doing.  Why?  Because it's simply not a game that's as easy as he's making it look.  It's a game that screws with your head and pulls out the demons from within.  Take some quite, shy guy on the golf course and you'll see and hear things that you never thought was possible from that same guy.  Thus, my main argument is that Tiger's head/brain/mind is SOOOOO underrated and under-appreciated.
