There are plenty of close games to discuss from the week 11 slate, some with interesting consequences for the division races involved. The Final Drive. It’s on.
(7-3) Detroit Lions 49(2-8) Carolina Panthers 35
So… this time the glove works? Man Stafford, get it together! Same goes to Cam Newton and the Panthers. Eventually you guys are going to have to win a game in order for anyone to take you seriously.
(10-0) Green Bay Packers 35(4-6) Tampa Bay Buccaneers 26
Successful or not, you have to admire the balls on Raheem Morris to go for two onside kicks on the defending champions. These amount of points and yardage the Bucs were able to rack up on Green Bay make this Lions-Packers Thanksgiving game all the more interesting.

(3-7) Miami Dolphins 35
(5-5) Buffalo Bills 8
WTF Buffalo. What is your deal? You start off 4-0 and then drop 5 of 6? To make it worse, they’ve dropped these last few in tremendously embarrassing fashion, all but ensuring they’re headed for another collapse. Shame on you for fooling us Buffalo.
(6-4) Dallas Cowboys 27(3-7) Washington Redskins 24
My trap prediction apparently rang true. Kudos to Dallas for escaping with a divisional road win, tying them with the Giants, who tripped up in a home loss. Don’t ask me to ever pick anything in the NFC East again though.
(7-3) Baltimore Ravens 31(6-4) Cincinnati Bengals 24
Ugh. The Bengals were so close again! Once more the Ravens played up to their competition, securing themselves a wildcard slot for the time being. I’m just not as impressed with them as I should be. The Bengals however, have shown me something even in these losses. I must say, they really miss A.J. Green.

(4-6) Philadelphia Eagles 17
(6-4) New York Giants 10
Stupid NFC East. The Giants had an opportunity to shut down the Eagles story and put some distance in the division. Instead they fell flat and dropped back down to the rest of the pack. And all of a sudden Vince Young does his “just winning” thing. I hate that. You can’t always win last minute after looking like shit the entire game and get all the credit. Credit the Eagle defense for not allowing Young’s THREE interceptions to hurt them.
Check back on Wednesday night/Thursday morning for my preview of the Thanksgiving Day games!
