10 Things I think I learned in week 2 of college football posted on 09/07/2008
- East Carolina is well on their way to being this year’s dark horse contender for a BCS bowl berth. 2006 = Boise State, 2007 = Hawaii, 2008 = East Carolina?
- There should be no polls until at least after week 5. Besides the top 5 teams in the country this year, there is very little that separates all the other teams in college football from week to week.
- Until Rich Rodriguez gets his kind of QB to run his offense, Michigan will not be a great team. They will only be average and the offense will look forced.
- Ohio State will lose to either Wisconsin or Penn State this year, and if they don’t have Beanie Wells next week they have no shot against USC.

Excessive Celebration? posted on 09/07/2008
I’m not sure if you saw the BYU/Washington game last night, if you didn’t, let me set the stage for you…
In a game that was back and forth all game; BYU is up 27-20, and looking to extend the longest current winning streak in the NCAA. Washington puts together a great drive in the final minute of the 4th Qtr. With 10 seconds left, and Washington with a 3rd and goal from about the 5yd. line, Mr. Washington himself, QB Jake Locker scrambles and somehow wills himself into the end zone for the touchdown. So there it is, we are going to overtime! Not so fast my friend, there is a yellow hanky on the turf. The penalty is excessive celebration. As Locker ran into the end zone, with pure exhilaration, he tossed the ball in the air and jumped into a teammates arms. The touchdown counts, but the extra point will have to be kicked from the 20 yd line instead of the 3 yd. line. And you probably can guess what happens next…the kick is blocked, Washington loses by one point!

PART 2: AFC Teams Anticipation and Questions for the upcoming season
Buffalo Bills – Is this improving yet mediocre team from the last two seasons, ready to become relevant in a division that includes the Super Bowl favorite?
Miami Dolphins – We know they have to be better than last year, but how much better will have to see. Will we already start to see the Parcells effect in the first season with this team?
New England Patriots – How will a team that suffered the most devastating loss in NFL history respond this year? Is this the year the defense goes from being “experienced” to “old”? How hurt is Tom Brady’s foot?
New York Jets – Does spending big money in the off-season translate into big wins during the season? How will Brett Favre look as a Jet, and how much does he have left in the tank?

NY JETS – WEEK ONE ALREADY A MUST WIN? posted on 09/03/2008
Hey Jet fans,I know it seems a little early, ok a lot early to claim that a team whose season hasn’t even started yet is already facing a must win game, but let’s take a look at the situation. The Jets first three games are @ Miami, New England, and @San Diego. Since 1990 only 3 teams out of 204 have started the season 0-3 and made the playoffs. Now is there a chance that the Jets could beat the Patriots or the Chargers? Sure there is, but both of those teams will be heavy favorites going into each game. And honestly the only real shot the jets have is riding the momentum from an opening week win against the Dolphins and playing their hated rivals at home in a close game that they pull off at the end of the game. Now If the Jets lose the

PART 1: NFC
For many NFL fans the eve of NFL kickoff takes on the feeling of a kid on Christmas Eve, the excitement, anticipation, surprises that lay ahead. But for all the football fans out there, the feelings aren’t about gifts and presents, but about seeing how all the unanswered questions that have built up in the offseason will be answered this year. And believe me; every team has their share of question marks.
Dallas Cowboys – Will all of these highly talented yet highly dominate personality players come together and stay together for a team goal? For a team who will only be measured by winning in the playoffs what happens if they don’t (again)?
New York Giants – Can a team that won 11 straight road games, capped off with a Super Bowl win, overcome so many loses to their staple defense? Will they even make the playoffs in the hardest division in football?
