NFL Opening Weekend = Christmas in September

PART 2: AFC Teams Anticipation and Questions for the upcoming season

Buffalo Bills – Is this improving yet mediocre team from the last two seasons, ready to become relevant in a division that includes the Super Bowl favorite?

Miami Dolphins – We know they have to be better than last year, but how much better will have to see.  Will we already start to see the Parcells effect in the first season with this team?

New England Patriots – How will a team that suffered the most devastating loss in NFL history respond this year?  Is this the year the defense goes from being “experienced” to “old”?  How hurt is Tom Brady’s foot?

New York Jets – Does spending big money in the off-season translate into big wins during the season?  How will Brett Favre look as a Jet, and how much does he have left in the tank?

Denver Broncos – Which no name running back will Mike Shanahan turn into a 1,000 yard rusher?  Does year three equal Jay Cutler stepping into the elite Quarterback group?

Kansas City – For a team that is clearly in rebuilding mode, can they be their division spoilers and create some upsets?

Oakland Raiders – How many flashes of greatness, if any, will we see from this team’s young talented skilled players?  How many games can this defense keep them in and give them a shot at winning?

San Diego Chargers – After two years of taking steps forward, is this the year they take that next step to the Super Bowl?  Will cocky Phillip Rivers finally just shut up and play?

Baltimore Ravens – How will this team look under the new coaching staff?  Does this defense still have one more great year in them?  Is Joe Flaco their guy?

Cincinnati Bengals – Will this talented team ever reach its potential?  Is this Marvin Lewis’ last try at making this team successful?

Cleveland Browns – Was last year’s surprise success for this team and for Derek Anderson just a product of an easy schedule?  Are they a playoff contender?

Pittsburg Steelers – Is this team still King of its Division?  Can their OL protect Big Ben?

Houston Texans – In a division dominated by the Colts, are these young Texans ready to at least compete for a wild card spot?  Will we see an even better Mario Williams this year? If we do, we just might be looking at the best DE in the league.

Indianapolis Colts – For the most consistent team in the NFL, how healthy are some of last year’s injured stars?  Their great divisional championship run has to end sometime, right?

Jacksonville Jaguars – How close is this team to being an elite force in the AFC?  Is this the team that can challenge the Colts to win the division?

Tennessee Titans – After taking a step back last year, can Vince Young take two steps forward this year?  Does Javon Kearse coming back mean the return of the Freak?
