It's been a tough year being a Seattle Seahawks fan, and a Seattle sports fan in general. We lose the Supersonics to Oklahoma City, the Mariners become the first team to have a $100M payroll and post 100 losses, and the Seahawks miss the playoffs for the first time in 5 years. But there is still a lot to look forward to. We have a new MLS team in Seattle FC that looks like it could be competitive from day 1, and the Mariners and Seahawks are not far from being playoff calibur teams.

At any rate, this blog will focus on the Seahawks. They should get a draft pick in the #5-#10 range, meaning they should get a pretty good player in the first round. Their main team need right now is WR. Injuries plagued the Seahawks at this position in 2008. The Seahawks also might be tempted to take an offensive lineman in the first round. Based on their play the last few games, their defence looks pretty solid, so I doubt they will go in this direction. Improving your defence is always a good thing, but it's not their main need right now.
