The defense utilized off-season acquisition cornerback Asante Samuel to the fullest and finished among the tops in the league for total team defense. Samuel finished with four regular-season interceptions and was a force in the playoffs as the Eagles made their deep playoff run.

So what’s changed? Well, superstar Cornerback Asante Samuel is no longer a member of the New England Patriots. The Pats have had changes to their defense at multiple positions. With their number one draft pick the Patriots selected Jerod Mayo, showing that they are looking to get past their old linebackers and bring in some fresh blood. Everyone is a year older, a little bit slower, a little bit weaker, but also a little bit wiser. The Patriots defense has always been good, but this year they will need to step their games up to a new level because even though the Giants won the Superbowl, everyone in the league will be gunning for the Patriots.

>the worst number one corners in the league for a couple years now.
Imagine replacing him with Asante Samuel. If they can't get Samuel,
Marcus Trufant is also a free agent.
As for the draft, from what I've read, all the top offensive lineman
