Bob Sanders

anning will go berserk anyway.

It's hard to believe after last year's success that All-Pro safety Bob Sanders never even made it on to the field! Remember, when Sanders is healthy he's one of the best safeties in football. Unfortunately, he's often injured. Luckily all that time off has forced the Colts defense to improve, making for a better unit when Sanders returns (which he is expected to this season.) Jerry Hughes, the Colts' first-round draft choice, should find his way into the defense end rotation early and often, giving sack machines Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis much deserved rest on their way to another post-season berth. While the secondary is young (six rookies combined from the CB and safety positions), the Colts prefer speed and athleticism on the outside for their cover-2 scheme. Expect a few mistakes along the way, but Jim Caldwell will have them in the right spot when it matters.

undefeated fiasco and on the championship path while improving a defense that missed All-Pro safety Bob Sanders all season proves Bill Polian and Jim Irsay made the right call.

While Caldwell certainly deserves credit for the Colts' success, there's no arguing who really runs this organization. With a record fourth MVP season behind him, Manning has one game left to claim his second title and his claim to immortal greatness. All that stands in his way is a Saints defense that begs you to make a mistake.

suffered last year with the loss of Dwight Freeney, one of the best defensive ends in the game, but Bob Sanders emerged to make a lot of noise for the team. Sanders was named the AFC Defensive Player of the year last year and I’m sure he’s looking to repeat that this year. Its not a bad defense. Tampa 2 is a defense that eliminates the big play. The Colts are a hard team to score on. They say that you can run on the Colts, that they can’t defend the run, but every time its brought up the Colts shut everyone down. They have a great defense. One of the best in the league.
