(8-5) New England Patriots at (5-8) Buffalo Bills 

Don't look now, but the rest of the AFC East is catching up to the Patriots. If Bill Belichick's squad loses another road game (which they've done consistently this season) and Miami or the Jets win, the Pats will fall out of the division lead and risk a playoff berth entirely. In a up-and-down season in Buffalo, this could be a signature win to carry them over into next year.

HAHAHAHA. Oh Mark Sanchez, you’re SO not ready yet. His lack of experience will start to hurt him this season as teams see more film and recognize his tendencies. He’ll still be a good quarterback in the league, but right now he’s going to have some huge growing pains. Dick Jauron may have saved his job for a few weeks, thanks to a great performance from back-up QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, who came in after Trent Edwards left the game with a concussion.

(1-4) Buffalo Bills 3 

Ugliest. Game. Ever. Derek Anderson goes 2 for 13 in a WIN. Mangini should have stuck with Brady Quinn. In Buffalo, things could be even worse after signing T.O. in the offseason. Dick Jauron will lose his job during this season. You can almost lock it in.

(1-3) Buffalo Bills 10 

The Dolphins finally won a game with their clock-controlling style. You can only go so long excelling at dominating time of possession and not win, even if Chad Henne was making his first NFL start. Not every opponent will have Peyton Manning. Buffalo looks to be in considerable turmoil already. I would not want to be coach Dick Jauron right now with a volatile TO waiting to ‘splode.

(1-2) Buffalo Bills 7 

It wasn’t a complete blowout by halftime, but this could have been the most impressive Saints win so far. Their defense came up with four sacks and two turnovers and gave up only seven points. The offense rushed for 222 yards and didn’t need Drew Brees to throw a touchdown. Now that’s impressive.

New Orleans Saints (2-0) at Buffalo Bills (1-1)

How long can Buffalo’s defense keep it close? I think Drew Brees and the Saints will have a two touchdown lead by halftime. They’re just that good. T.O. has to be more ready for downfield throws than he was last week, because they’ll need every score they can get.

New England Patriots 25, Buffalo Bills 24

That’s why they’re the Patriots. Despite being down 11 points with only four minutes to go, Tom Brady found a way. Randy Moss caught 12 balls for 141 yards, proving that he’s still a difference maker. Still, I don’t think Belichick wanted Brady to throw 53 times.

Buffalo Bills at New England Patriots

On Monday Night, the T.O. show heads into New England for what could be a slaughter in the first quarter. Dick Jauron and the Bills fired offensive coordinator Turk Schonert less than a week ago after a dismal offensive performance in the preseason. The first team offense only scored three points in its 15 series in those four games. Buffalo’s no-huddle offense moved the chains, but couldn’t reach the endzone. Newly promoted OC Alex Van Pelt must find a way for QB Trent Edqards to get newly acquired receiver Terrell Owens the ball 83 times a game or there will be a blow-up by week four. Buffalo’s defense is solid if nothing else, but Tom Brady and the Pats will carve them up.

fused when you heard the news that controversial wide receiver Terrell Owens had been signed by the Buffalo Bills. For a player with a troublesome history like Owens, this might be his last chance to redeem himself and prove he can play nice with others. For a team that barely gets any national attention, Buffalo just cannon-balled into the media pool. I did not see this coming. Oakland? Yes. Al Davis loves stockpiling problem children. Then it’s always a surprise when they’re a problem and are released a year later. Buffalo? Dick Jauron is the model of calm and non-confrontational. Trent Edwards is a second year quarterback whose growth could be stunted if T.O. starts acting up early. Is this a good acquisition for the Bills? Well, to answer simply: maybe.

Terrell Owens signed a one-year deal with the Buffalo Bills and has said he has gone from America's Team to North America's Team.

Personally, I have nothing against him. My understanding is off the field he's a very nice guy. Neighbors of his talk about how kind he is. And T.O. has no criminal record. But what I saw of him as a receiver in San Francisco and Philadephia led me to believe he wouldn't work in Dallas. It amazes me all the complaining he did about not getting the ball enough even though he had more passes thrown to him than Cowboys tight end Jason Witten.

Obviously, going from an abysmal 1-15 to 11-6 and AFC East Champions was quite the storybook turnaround. But, it wasn't enough, and the team still has a long way to go before it can compete with the AFC powerhouses like the Steelers and the Ravens.

Cleveland Browns 29, Buffalo Bills 27

At 4-6, the Browns would have to go on a significant tear in order to play in the post-season. Keeping that in mind, beating the Bills on Monday night is a step in the right direction. Having given up double digit leads in the fourth quarter of their last two outings, the Browns looked ready to collapse again as the Bills surged late. Luckily, Brady Quinn calmly led his team to a down the field to set up Phil Dawson for a 56-yard field goal. After the Bills missed on a 47-yard attempt with 38 seconds remaining, Cleveland has momentarily saved its season.

Cleveland Browns (3-6) at Buffalo Bills (5-4)

In week eleven, the term “must-win” is now open for use, and the Browns know it. Starting Brady Quinn was supposed to spark this team, but all the talk of players quitting during the game can’t help morale. Cleveland is ripe for the picking, so if they can’t put together a winning streak, they can only blame themselves. Romeo Crennel will certainly be on the hot seat if their season ends without a game in January.

New England Patriots 20, Buffalo Bills 10

I’ve been waiting to dance on the grave of the Patriots all season since Brady went down, but they simply aren’t dying. Matt Cassel has proven to be a serviceable NFL quarterback, fronting an offense that scores enough points to win. New England has fought through numerous injuries, but losing linebacker Adalius Thomas for the season could hurt more than any other. Still, at 6-3 with a game coming against the Jets (whom they are tied with in the standings), the Patriots are in a position to take control of a surprisingly tough AFC East.

This is a big AFC East showdown. Both teams are coming off loses. Matt Cassel is 5-3 as a starter which is definitely respectable. The Bills defense is good, but for some reason my gut is telling me to go with the Pats with this one. New England still has veteran players, they still have grumpy old Bill on the sideline who knows the game. This game will be close, but I say Pats win.

With the Bills, Patriots, and Jets tied for the lead at 5-3 and the Dolphins sitting at 4-4, the AFC East has become one of the most exciting divisions in football. The Bills have fallen off sharply after a 4-0 start. The obvious reason has been turnovers. With 11 turnovers in their three losses, Dick Jauron’s strategy should be clear. Protect the ball and play solid defense, and his team will win.

New York Jets (4-3) at Buffalo Bills (5-2)

Coming off of a surprisingly tough game against the lowly Chiefs in which Brett Favre threw three interceptions, the Jets find themselves in position to make a statement against the division leading Bills. With a loss earlier this season to New England, Eric Mangini’s Jets can’t afford to suffer another division loss if they have any hopes of winning the AFC East. Favre has been inconsistent under center the past few weeks, so running back Thomas Jones will see plenty of action to take the pressure off of his quarterback.

For everyone else, it’s a crap-shoot. Now onto week seven in the NFL:

Buffalo Bills 24, San Diego Chargers 14

Okay, now we all should know the Buffalo Bills are as good as advertised. Trent Edwards is the best quarterback in the NFL that no one’s talking about. Edwards completed a Brady-like 25 of his 30 pass attempts, and was protected by an offensive line that allowed no sacks. That same line pushed the Chargers around for running backs Fred Jackson and Marshawn Lynch who combined for a workmen-like 28 carries for 103 yards. The Bills offense never turned the ball over while the Bills defense took it away three times. As long as Trent is upright and health, the Bills will contend for the division title this season.

NFL will continue separating the good from the simply mediocre.

San Diego Chargers (3-3) at Buffalo Bills (4-1)

The Chargers of years past were predominantly designed to hand-off to L.T. and keep their quarterbacks from making too many throws. This year’s Chargers, with Tomlinson’s injury slowing him down, are in a “throw first, run later” mindset. It worked last week, as San Diego demolished New England. Philip Rivers has been successful without his number one receiver in Chris Chambers, who hasn’t practiced since spraining his ankle in their October fifth loss to Miami. Stepping up to the plate, Vincent Jackson and Malcolm Floyd are frequently getting open downfield and stretching the defense. Chambers won’t need to rush back with the way the Super Chargers are lighting up scoreboards as of late.

Arizona Cardinals 41, Buffalo Bills 17

Undefeated no longer, the Buffalo Bills have bigger problems to worry about. Trent Edwards’ concussion could be a lingering issue if they rush him back on the field. Luckily, their schedule works in their favor, as they have the bye in week six. J.P. Losman has been a decent back-up, but Edwards is the better quarterback in his second year. If Edwards can’t play, the strategy won’t differ too much, as the deep ball to Lee Evans is Losman’s best throw, and running back Marshawn Lynch will pick up the slack. Arizona broke their two game losing streak to beat one of the best teams in the AFC. Injured wide-out Anquan Boldin should return sooner rather than later as he recovers from the fractured sinus he suffered in week four’s loss to the Jets. Kurt Warner finds All-Pro Larry Fitzgerald with great consistency, and that should keep Arizona in the NFC West lead.

The Bills shocked everyone by dismantling perennial NFC West champion Seattle Seahawks. If Dick Jauron’s crew wants to capitalize on New England’s misfortune, beating a hard-nosed Jaguars squad will put them in the perfect position. Jacksonville is having offensive line troubles, which will make their renowned running game more difficult to maintain.

The Buffalo Bills. The only New York team that actually plays in New York, but they want to play in Toronto and to be honest, I want them to go there too. The franchise has had very little success in its entire history. Yes its true they do have 4 conference championships, but in its entire history, the Bills have never been able to win the big one. It’s never happened and by the looks of the team that took that field last year, it doesn’t look like its going to happen this year either. They will play some of their games in Toronto and I do believe eventually the Bills will move their franchise there. It’s a good place for the franchise to start fresh in a new home. I think they could use it.

It was an ugly win, but important nevertheless. Not only did it get the Browns closer to the NFL postseason, but also it showed that they are learning how to win the tough games.

You’d think that a team from Buffalo would be ready for a snow-filled game, but the Bills didn’t seem like it at all. They were essentially embarrassing to watch, almost as bad were the Bills fans that came to the sports bar wearing Buffalo Sabres jerseys…really. But more importantly, the Browns came away with the win in turbulent weather. And if the increasingly realistic Browns playoffs hopes come to fruition, they will need to be ready to play in adverse conditions like they did today.
