Yep, Super Bowl winning Darren Sharper will be a free agent. He may not be a perfect fit for the cover-two, but if that system gets in the way of Jerry Angelo signing a playmaker like Sharper I'll be furious. He won't be a long-term solution, but this staff is trying to win now or they won't be here next season.

need help over the top if he's expected to cover any of the Colt receivers. In the secondary, Darren Sharper is a ball-hawk, with nine interceptions. Every time he makes a pick he's liable to take it back to the house, but who knows how many opportunities he'll get (if any) against Peyton Manning.

With ball-hawking ex-Viking and Packer safety Darren Sharper in the Saint secondary, he'll be well aware of Favre's tendencies and ball placement. If they can manage just one turnover and give their offense an extra possession somewhere, the Saints will win.

lf, the Saints fought back with 36 points in the second, including a 42-yard interception return by Darren Sharper. Tony Sparano’s Dolphins show promise for the future, but their schedule so far this season has been simply brutal.

Safety:

The Bears are supposedly going to receive a visit from former Pro Bowl free safety Darren Sharper if he makes it out of New Orleans. (That seems doubtful to me, the Saints need him.) Sharper would provide a veteran presence in the secondary to replace the departing Mike Brown and should be around for a year or two as Craig Steltz and a surely-incoming draft selection develop and learn underneath him. He’s aged, but he can still make the big plays and is consistently healthier than Brown ever was.
