Ed Reed

16 January 2012

see he wasn’t prepared to make the right reads against blitzes and never seemed to know where Ed Reed was. (Or knew and threw it anyway.) But Kubiak didn’t help out by reining in his young QB at the right times (like his two final drives). 1st and ten at Baltimore’s 38 with nearly two minutes left and you take a deep shot right at Reed, who makes the interception? 4th and two on a possible game-winning drive with a decent amount of time left on the clock and you take a shot at the endzone after passing it twice? And right at Reed AGAIN? No Gary. Get the first and spike it. Give Yates the opportunity to get a less pressured chance to score. Though Houston should have never had the chance to win this game had Harbaugh just ran the clock down like Coaching 101 says. (I mean, what else is Ray Rice for at that point?)There were issues with coaching on both sidelines during this game.

his home crowd, but his best weapon Roddy White won't be 100% after dealing with a knee injury and Ed Reed is healthy and patrolling the secondary for the Ravens. Against the Falcons' decent defensive backfield, Joe Flacco should have some open targets. I'm leaning towards Baltimore but I won't be surprised by anything... unless there's a blow-out.

ith top man Dominique Foxworth being placed on IR and Lardarius Webb not likely to play the opener. Ed Reed is on the PUO list for the first six weeks, meaning Tom Zbikowski or Ken Hamlin have to fill his talented shoes.

Ravens were their own worst enemies, killing possessions before the offense ever got on the field. Ed Reed managed to intercept Manning on two different passes, only to fumble the first right back and the second called back on defensive pass interference. A fourth quarter Ray Rice fumble and a field goal from Colt kicker Matt Stover put the icing on the Indy cake, ensuring they will host the AFC Championship next week at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Lewis and safety Ed Reed keep their emotional defense in check and disciplined against Manning or it could be a long day.

For Jim Caldwell's Colts, they are once again attempting to make a post-season run after essentially taking a vacation at the end of the regular season. They are 0-3 when they try it. You would think Caldwell would know better, but I guess he's banking on his club's seven straight wins against the Ravens. Defensive ends Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis did not sack Flacco in their 17-15 win over Baltimore earlier this season, but they may not get a chance to today. The Colts will need to shut down Ray Rice and the running game in order to give Manning and the offense the most possessions possible.

On defense, safety Ed Reed should be healthy enough to play after nursing a groin injury for part of the regular season. Ray Lewis is as demonstrative as ever, but that defensive line featuring Haloti Ngata and Trevor Pryce will be the biggest factor in whether Baltimore can pull off the upset.

nd bruised.

(5-8) Chicago Bears at
(7-6) Baltimore Ravens

Led by Ray Lewis and Ed Reed, the Baltimore defense thrives on shutting down the run and confusing the opposing quarterback into throwing interceptions. This will be their lucky day, as our offense excels at running the ball poorly and turning it over. *Update: The Ravens will be without safety

When you got players like Ray Lewis and Ed Reed question their head coach in the media than changes need to be made. Unfortunately for Ravens fans it could be another long season for them next
