Hornets

They are susceptible to the corner 3 and the offensive rebound, two things the Hornets excel at. Still think the Lakers will win, just because David West will play Mr. Invisible man tonight getting lost and bothered amidst the Lakers height and length. That added with the fact that the Lakers bench is actually playing better than the starters the last couple of games (they came in both against Dallas and Houston and got the team back on track after the starters fell behind early) and the

After squeaking by the New Orleans Hornets* in Game 7, they now face the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers are hungry for two reasons:

Coach Phillip Jackson is eager to break Red Auerbach's record by winning his 10th NBA title as a coach; Kobe Bryant is trying to prove that he CAN win without the abovementioned O'Neal on the floor with him.

The San Antonio Spurs have center Tim Duncan. And the New Orleans Hornets have point guard Chris Paul. The other player I would consider in this class is Dwyane Wade of the Miami (the 2006 version). It's no surprise that the Cavs, Spurs, and

pitching again...

...Looks like the San Antonio Spurs have their hands full with the New Orleans Hornets. The Hornets have a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven series to see who will play (most likely) the Los Angeles Lakers. Kudos to

e Spurs looked old, washed-up and tired in the first two games of their series with the New Orleans Hornets but when they got home they easily tied the series at 2-2 with a couple of blow-outs.  We all knew the Jazz were very good at home but I can’t lie, I am shocked they held off the Lakers twice in the fourth quarter of close games.  Three of the four series are tied at 2-2 with game five on the horizon.  The home team should feel confident for the next game though, that’s for sure.

Hornets-Mavs: Again this is a series where most people seem to be jumping on one team.  And it’s not the higher seed.  The Mavs are everyone’s sexy pick of the playoffs.  Two weeks ago people were pronouncing this team dead and saying they might miss the playoffs, now they’re the hottest team alive.  They are hot and I know they beat the

Look for Phil J. to rotate D. Fish, Farmar and maybe even Sasha on the Hornets' mercurial point man and funnel him to the baseline because he does most of his damage in the paint.

The Rockets are on a 19-game winning streak! Only two teams (Lakers and Bucks) have a longer winning streak in NBA history. The Rockets' offense is free flowing without Yao clogging up the middle. Dikembe Mutombo may be 65-years-old but he can still block shots and wag his finger. Houston plays two games before it faces the Lakers on Sunday, and if everything goes according to plan, the Rockets will be on a 21-game win streak heading into Sunday's tipoff. The game is so big that ABC juggled its programming schedule to spotlight this game.
