Kerry Collins

(0-5) Tennessee Titans at (3-2) New England Patriots

This is the last week you’ll see Kerry Collins starting for the Titans. When they lose to New England, they’ll be 0-6 and just looking for a spark on offense. Just like last week, Vince Young will probably fund his way into this one by the end if the score is out of hand. The Patriots may be having more issues than we expected this season, but they won’t give the Titans their first win. Tom Brady will dissect a secondary missing its two starting corners. Oh yeah, Junior Seau has un-retired again, without the Favre-like hooplah.

to Indianapolis next week (and they should) and fall to 0-5, look for Vince Young to take over for Kerry Collins. Even if its not Collins’ fault, the team needs a spark.

Kerry Collins: I know, a Pro Bowl quarterback off a 13-win team is going to be an unrestricted free agent, how odd? The problem is he’s 36 years old. He’s only a temporary solution that would leave the Bears with the same problem they have now. On the plus side, he’s used to working with mediocre receivers.

Tennessee went with a pass play, but Kerry Collins and the offense did not succeed. After the game, Fisher told reporters the reason he didn't have Bironas out there was because they were facing the wind and they 'were about 5 yards from Bironas' favorable spot'. I'm not so sure if I believe Fisher fully on his comments, but even great head coaches make mistakes.

Tennessee is now 10-0…that’s amazing considering that they are doing it with Kerry Collins as their QB.  Good thing Vince Young had some issues at the beginning of the season!

Chicago had obviously decided to make Kerry Collins beat them, as was the correct strategy to utilize. They crowded the Tennessee line of scrimmage all afternoon, holding the vaunted Titan running game to only 20 yards. Bear defenders were in the backfield making plays for most of the day on first and second downs, often setting up third and long. That’s how defense is supposed to be played in the NFL. You hold the offense to little or no gain on first and second, backing them up if you can, which forces them to pass on third down. Now that you know they’re going to pass, you can sit back and protect the first down marker and beyond in order to get your defense off the field. This only works if you can stop the pass that you KNOW for a FACT is coming. Lovie Smith’s defense has been unable to defend the pass all season and the trend continued on Sunday, as they allowed Titans QB
