Kevin Kolb

9 September 2011

I like the trade for and signing of Kevin Kolb, but it was the move the Cards needed to make. That means they could lock up Larry Fitzgerald, to whom Kolb has already shown a propensity to toss it. Tight end Todd Heap suggests a new philosophy for Ken Wisenhunt’s offense, emphasizing the importance of a pass-catcher at the position. If Beanie Wells and Chester Taylor even moderate production, the Cardinal offense could be above average. Patrick Peterson gives Arizona a shut-down corner that can play all over the field, much like a Charles Woodson. Adrian Wilson and Kerry Rhodes are productive safeties. The Cardinals have issues slowing down the run, but hopefully the offense can take some of that pressure off. I might be more optimistic than some, but I’m believing in Kolb… for now.

d up? Here are the remaining free agent/on the trading block QB’s and their potential suitors.Kevin Kolb

Clearly the most intriguing/mysterious QB on the market, Kolb’s the really hot girl at the party you know nothing about. The situation is thus: Do you ditch the safe (but perhaps not as attractive) girl with the quirky and fun personality or do you risk it all with the super-hot woman that could turn out to be a total psycho? Arizona is staring that problem in the face right now with the Orton/Kolb conundrum. With Seattle signing Tarvaris Jackson, the Cardinals are clearly the spot for Kolb to land.Donovan McNabb

? They lose fullback Leonard Weaver for the season, lost linebacker Stewart Bradlet and starting QB Kevin Kolb to concussions and have the faint beginnings of a quarterback controversy thanks to Michael Vick, who came in and wowed the crowd with his thought-lost running ability. Green Bay gets a tough win without playing near its best, which reminds them they're not in the Super Bowl yet. Rodgers will look much better as the season goes on.

d quarterback changes in recent history, Andy Reid and the Eagles have taken 2007 second round pick Kevin Kolb and made him a starting QB in the NFL, whether he's ready or not. Rumors of his superior accuracy and fitting the system better need to be proven on the field. With Brian Westbrook released, LeSean McCoy will be the full-time starter, backed up by Mike Bell. The Eagle wide-outs are young but talented, starting with deep threat DeSean Jackson. If Jeremy Maclin improves on his 56-catch rookie season, watch out for this offense. Brent Celek will catch at least 80 balls this season from the tight end spot, as Kolb's main safety valve. The offensive line doesn't have many holes with veteran center Jamaal Jackson and tackle Jason Peters, but they've never really excelled at run-blocking, and I doubt that will change.

ats want to win this division.

(2-0) New Orleans Saints 48
(1-1) Philadelphia Eagles 22

Kevin Kolb passed for 391 yards in his first start and LOST. That’s what happens when you get in a shoot-out with Drew Brees. He’s going to win that battle. Is there a better quarterback right now? The Saints should scare the jock straps off most teams.

If Kevin Kolb ends up starting this one in place of Donovan McNabb, I don’t know if the Eagles can match points with the Saints.

Arizona Cardinals (0-1) at Jacksonville Jaguars (0-1)

gles will once again rely on Donovan McNabb at quarterback and once again we will hear callings for Kevin Kolb. It’s the same thing every year. McNabb gets no respect unless he over achieves and that is not very often. McNabb will struggle with the fans more then with the game this year. We will hear a lot of boos for him unless he does something that gets the fans off of his back for a week. Being drafted to Philly is probably the worst thing that has happened to McNabb’s career. He would have flourished anywhere else. I don’t think we will see
