Laurence Maroney
10 January 2010
Randy Moss should see all the double coverage he can handle. Back Laurence Maroney has come on in the second half of the year to bring a running game back to New England. For all the offensive talent, the Patriots' defense has been the problem all year. Young, inconsistent and inexperienced, the secondary has made too many mistakes. They aren't pressuring opposing quarterbacks. It's difficult to win in the postseason with that combination.

se, how can Brady and the Patriots not make it back to the Superbowl?
In the backfield, Laurence Maroney will be leading the charge, but expect Kevin Faulk and Sammy Morris to cut into some of those carries. Faulk, is the 3rd down specialist for the team and Morris, when he was healthy was taking over for Maroney in the red-zone. Maroney did not see the ball much last season with Faulk and Morris cutting into his time and the offense being a mostly passing one, but when he was called upon to make something happen, he did not disappoint. The Patriots have an exciting offense and when you watch them you will have fun, there’s no doubt about that.

e! Quarterback issues (would you want Bulger, ELI, or Warner? didn't think so!) and the myth of Laurence Maroney cost this middle of the pack team a lot of wins, but solid RBs kept 'em alive this long. The problem for Sugar-Shane isn't his team, it's his not-so-sugar schedule the remaining weeks of the season.

Sure they score a lot of points, but Asante Samuel was no Deion. Laurence Maroney is surely no Emmitt Smith, and who is the Pats' Leon Lett?
Even the hapless Buffalo Bills, perennial playoff letdowns, are a type of team that won't be seen again.
