Lendale White
7 November 2008
The Titans have a great running back tandem in Chris Johnson and Lendale White, but the Bears’ defense ranks sixth in the league against the run. Conversely, the Titans haven’t been forced to pass the ball to win, so their offense ranks 29th through the air. That’s music to the Bears’ ears, since pass defense isn’t their strong suit, ranking a lowly 30th. Corner Danieal Manning looks to return this week after missing time with a hamstring issue, but safety Mike Brown is still questionable with a calf injury. Brown sat out Wednesday but was limited on Thursday, leaving his status for Sunday still up in the air. Linebacker Hunter Hillenmeyer is still questionable with a thumb injury, so look for Nick Roach to fill the void on the strong side. Injuries or not, this defense has to start producing to the level of their income, or expect to see drastic changes during the off-season.

2 running backs a game and even their quarterback tucks the ball and scrambles around quite a bit. Lendale White is not in the greatest shape, but he makes things happen on the field. He is able to plow through the line and get yardage. His game as well as his stomach is big time. Spelling White this year will be Chris Henry who had a pretty decent year last year. He will have to step it up a bit to aid this offense as the number 2 back, but I don’t think that will be a problem. I am curious to see if the Titans first round draft pick in Chris Johnson out of East Carolina can provide some spark to the running game. He may never see the ball because of the way Vince Young plays. Its simple. Vince Young can’t play well when he throws the ball 40 or more times. Young will run. White will run. Henry will run. This team will try to run their way back into the playoffs.
