The Spurs won despite being without key parts Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili. Tim Duncan and rookie George Hill came up big in the 77-75 win. Duncan had a game-saving block against Rockets guard Aaron Brooks late to clinch the win for the Spurs.

y have led the way for the Lakers with 30 points, but the Spurs had three players with at least 20 (Manu Ginobili with 30, Tim Duncan with 22 and Tony Parker with 20). Bryant got called for three personal fouls in this game, something sure to anger Lakers head coach Phil Jackson enough to make him tear in half a copy of Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance.

Jim Rome noted on his show that the Spurs used a great performance by sixth man Manu Ginobili and their stifling defense to outlast New Orleans. Question remains: will it be enough to get past L.A.? Will noted Laker fan Jack Nicholson reprise his Jack Torrance role from The Shining and try to scare Tim "The Big Fundamental" Duncan by chopping down his hotel room and screaming "HEEEEERE'S JOHNNY!"?

fted a little known but ultra quick point guard in Tony Parker and the next season took a chance on Manu Ginobili in the second round.

If Tim Duncan is the foundation of the Spurs' machine and Parker is the driver, then Ginobili is the engine.

Leading the way in scoring for the Spurs was Tony Parker with 32, Manu Ginobili (recently named as the NBA’s sixth man of the year) with 29 points and Tim Duncan with 18 points and 17 rebounds. Duncan did, though, struggle from the free-throw line as he hit only two of six shots. Amazingly enough, Duncan wasn’t called for any personal fouls (that might change when the series heads to Phoenix).

He was 0-4 this season and is only 4-24 in the post season.

Manu Ginobili then won it in overtime with a last-second shot, a lay-up with 1.8 seconds left.
