land’s third best corner (and he probably is), then the Patriots will be forced to put him on Mario Manningham in passing situations. While the Giants have the advantage in each of these match-ups, Edelman against Manningham is the most one-sided. Eli Manning is going to know when Edelman has one-on-one duty at any given moment and should exploit that advantage to its fullest. Don’t be surprised to see Manningham have a huge day in the slot.

Hakeem Nicks has excellent speed and will catch nearly everything thrown his way. Mario Manningham gets great separation and has good chemistry with Manning, as evidenced by his 17 yarder in the NFC title game. Victor Cruz has exploded into a number one, Pro Bowl type player and can exploit any coverage despite his diminutive stature. It’s almost a typical occurrence to see Cruz handily beat double coverage down the field. With young weapons like these, this Giant offense will be a scoring threat for the next three to five years.

he Superbowl star that caught the improbable pass in the last two minutes of the game, & rookie Mario Manningham out of Michigan. The tight end situation is another that aggravates me about the New York Giants. Is Jeremy Shockey talented? Yes, no doubt. However, he gets in the way of the offense and he is too much of a hot head. This is not Shockey’s team. This is Eli’s team, however young Eli may be. Eli needs to be able to run the offense without Shockey getting in his head. If I were the Giants, I would trade Shockey and continue with Kevin Boss at tight end. They were a better team last year with Shockey injured and Boss at tight end.
