Matt Hasselbeck

Shows how much the 'Skins think of McNabb.

Just walk away man.Matt Hasselbeck

For the only veteran with any legitimate success that’s a true free agent, the fact that Hasselbeck is definitely leaving Seattle adds a new level to these QB swaps. I could see him heading to Tennessee or Miami and becoming to starter right away. My money’s on the Titans.Kyle Orton

Julius Peppers must make his presence felt on every play and find a way to routinely hit Matt Hasselbeck. Hasselbeck had a fantastic game last week against a soft Saints defense, but this week he won’t have as easy of a time finding his receivers. Chicago needs to keep their eyes on three Seahawks on offense. Tight end John Carlson converts third-downs, running back Marshawn Lynch will break tackles and wide-out Mike Williams will expose loose coverage.

I think the lowly Seahawks would be able to oust the defending champs, home field advantage or not. Matt Hasselbeck had a phenomenal afternoon, lighting up the Saints secondary, which was without starting safety Malcolm Jenkins. I put this loss squarely on New Orleans’ defense, which just never decided to show up. When Drew Brees and that offense drop 36 points, there’s no excuse for losing, especially to a 7-9 squad. Still, the Seahawks went out and played a great game in front of their home crowd and proved it doesn’t matter what your record is when the postseason begins. A 7-9 team beat the defending Super Bowl champs. The Seahawks belonged there. Credit Pete Carroll with getting his boys ready and believing in the aging Hasselbeck.

The 2010 NFL Playoffs are upon us! Wildcard Saturday kicks off the action with the reigning NFL champs on the road in Seattle and a rematch of last year’s AFC Championship. Here’s my breakdown of each game, along with my official picks. Last year I went 5-6 against the spread, let’s see if I can improve that mark this season!Saturday4:30 PM ET, NBC

On the road in 2010 they're 0-2 and struggle to mount offense. Matt Hasselbeck is an aging QB who doesn't have the same accuracy as he did during his Pro Bowl seasons. He has a very inexperienced group of wide-outs, especially since they just traded away veteran Deion Branch back to the Patriots. Former bust Mike Williams starts on the outside and rookie Golden Tate backs him up while slot receiver Brandon Stokley gets his catches over the middle. Pass-catching TE John Calson is probable for the game, making sure Hasselbeck has one of his favorite targets. Chicago's secondary matches up favorably with Seattle's receivers, but they can't allow them to find success early. Forcing a few three-and-outs early and getting the offense a turnover or two will lock in a victory.

om his last NFL gig, has brought an energy to excitement to the northwestern franchise and upgraded Matt Hasselbeck's arsenal. He traded for Jets RB Leon Washington, making for a productive trio partnered with Julius Jones and Justin Forsett. They drafted Notre Dame wide-out Golden Tate to go alongside T.J. Houshmandzadeh. What's even more surprising is that Mike Williams (former USC receiver and NFL bust) looks like he's going to actually earn a spot on the roster. Tight end John Carlson isn't talked about enough and will see a lot of endzone looks from Hasselbeck. Sixth overall pick Russell Okung will anchor the offensive line for years from the left tackle position and will benefit greatly from line coach Alex Gibbs' renowned tutelage. Carroll also brought Jeremy Bates along to head up the offense, so expect some points on the board.

Even Matt Hasselbeck could be on the hot seat. In Arizona, the Cardinals haven’t fared as well as they have on the road with all of their three losses coming in front of their home crowd. Oh well, they still have Kurt Warner and a hella-explosive offense. This one may not last long.

sp;

(2-3) Seattle Seahawks 41
(2-3) Jacksonville Jaguars 0

What a difference a Matt Hasselbeck makes. The Seahawks shut out the Jekyll and Hyde Jaguars and put up a forty-burger. With the Niners’ loss, the ‘Hawks can still make some noise in the NFC West.

awk is injured you ask? Someone pretty important…

How about former Pro-Bowl quarterback Matt Hasselbeck? After being viciously (but legally) leveled by 49er linebacker Patrick Willis, Hasselbeck was discovered to have a fractured rib. Needless to say, the Seahawks are being cautious with their star. No one expects him to be able to play on Sunday, so back-up Seneca Wallace will be asked to fill in.

Frank Gore racked up 207 yards on only 16 carries. Matt Hasselbeck left the game with a fractured rib. If he’s out for any length of time, it could be disastrous for the Seahawks’ season.

main need right now.

One final note, I think the Seahawks need to think about their future after Matt Hasselbeck.  He's a decent quarterback, when healthy and he has a healthy receiver

ling stinks, and they have no faith in their running game (for good reason) and for whatever reason Matt Hasselbeck picked up a lot of bad habits from Bret Favre.

For Brown, he gets paid, and now he gets to play for a loser, which I think is quite fitting.
