Michael Vick

7 November 2011

Is everyone settled down now? Anyone still riled up? I have to say, there was almost no breathing during that final two minutes, but I’m relaxed enough to run you through how the Bears picked up their fifth win in eight games, dropping the Eagles on their home turf.

during a much-needed bye week, the Chicago Bears head out to the City of Brotherly Love to take on Michael Vick and the surging Philadelphia Eagles. Can Lovie Smith’s defense repeat last year’s impressive performance against Vick and take their winning streak to a whopping three games? Let’s break this one down.

Always a source of hype and drama, the division went topsy-turvy once again in 2010 as Michael Vick had an MVP-caliber season and the Cowboys fell off the face of the planet. Can the Eagles build off their impressive free agent class and make a Super Bowl run? Will Rex Grossman… not suck terribly in Washington? Are the Giants flying under the radar? I love this division. Let’s break it down.

Hm. That’s my general reaction to Wildcard Weekend in the NFL. The playoffs got started with what is unquestionably one of the biggest upsets in recent memory, which was followed up by a drama-filled finish in Indianapolis. Sunday saw a drilling in Kansas City and a comeback story ended early in Philly. Here’s the story behind the first round of the NFL playoffs.(8-9) Seattle Seahawks 41

And there's no way they can put the clamps on Michael Vick, who only needs to pay attention to Mario Williams on the outside. Otherwise I expect Vick to go off tonight. Eagles win big.

Without a doubt, this was the most complete game I’ve seen these Bears play all season. It couldn’t have come at a better time either. With all of the hype surrounding Mike Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles, the opposite result would not have been surprising. Instead, the Bears dominated the Eagles in every phase of the game en route to a 31-26 win to rise to 8-3. Respect it!

Well they've had plenty of time to prepare for this game, haven't they? The Chicago Bears are at home today, welcoming in Mike Vick and the impressive Philadelphia Eagles.

ia Eagles 28
(1-2) Jacksonville Jaguars 3

Anyone questioning Andy Reid's decision to go with Michael Vick now? He sure looks good as an Eagle. His completion percentage was more in line with what we've seen from Vick in the past, but 291 yards and three scores through the air sure isn't. His deep ball is as clean as ever, giving the Eagles the big play ability they enjoyed with McNabb. As long as he plays like this, there's no reason to pull Vick out of the line-up. In Jacksonville, things are ugly. I wouldn't be sure David Garrard would last the entire season as the starter if they didn't have Luke McCown and Todd Bouman as his back-ups. He's the starter by default.

-Quickly, Michael Vick gets the start for the Eagles as they face the Jacksonville Jaguars. With the Philly o-line struggling, Vick gives the Eagles the best shot to win and brings excitement back to the Eagles.

Lions' late rally, but the Eagles won their first game of the season thanks to the talents of Michael Vick and LeSean McCoy's three touchdowns. Vick's 284 yards and two touchdowns through the air gave QB-less teams around the league (Buffalo anyone?) a heads-up for when free agency comes around. The other heads-up was given by Detroit running back Jahvid Best, who is all man. (And fast, too.)

g QB Kevin Kolb to concussions and have the faint beginnings of a quarterback controversy thanks to Michael Vick, who came in and wowed the crowd with his thought-lost running ability. Green Bay gets a tough win without playing near its best, which reminds them they're not in the Super Bowl yet. Rodgers will look much better as the season goes on.

Perrins may or may not be a manager for a highly ranked D1 program.. thankfully this league is for fun only because I went through that same manager training and remember that managers are actually considered team members (except tutoring, bowl gifts and any other way the program can hold them down) and subject to NCAA rules.  Therefore, if this were a money league there is both risk and reward involved, so he would be under that umbrella.  There is both risk and reward involved.. it's called pridge, but the NCAA doesn't care about that.  They also don't care about the recruiting violations that John Calipari breaks at every school he's been at or that their newest hot recruit from the Chicago area said they asked for something like $100,000 to play there... Kentucky only mad because they went to the press about it.  Regardless, Perrins is coming off a major year.. for him at 7-6ish.  He's already talking big when he texted me and told me, "I have the best skill position players in the league."  Whoa, easy turbo, you also have the biggest sense of overconfidence in the league.  That's like saying that Kuma's Corner has the best burgers in the nation.  While it COULD be true, there is just no way to prove it.

>Philly will sit Donovan McNabb for a second straight week, and maybe even receiver DeSean Jackson. Michael Vick will make his much bally-hooed regular season debut, but don’t expect fireworks. With their bye week next, the Eagles may try to get two weeks of rest for players for the price of only one game. Against the lowly Chiefs, that might be a good idea. Then again, it is the NFL.

I nearly fell from my chair when Brees hit Robert Meachem with a TD. The Redskins looked surprised too, because they didn't seem to account for him well at all.

8 NFL Draft, the Atlanta Falcons select Matt Ryan, Quarterback, Boston College.” The stain of Michael Vick has finally been dissolved. With the drafting of Matt Ryan, the Atlanta Falcons are finally ready to move on. They have drafted a worthy franchise Quarterback and the re-building has finally begun to take place. Does this mean the Falcons will be successful in the 2008 season? Of course not, but this is a giant step in the right direction. No more

And now, here he stands a free agent.

(A repost from another place in December)

Well, I'm not sure what to say. These are heavy times. I just filled up my Civic for 40 bones, I've got friends rakin' in hazard pay in Iraq, the Christmas rape is in full swing, and amid the whirlwind of craziness that is post-911 earth, people would rather hear Britney Spears updates than do anything to help each other, thus helping themselves.

Yeah, pretty superstitious! It’s all for good reason, sort of. Michael Vick, Donovan McNabb, Daunte Culpepper, and Marshall Faulk are just a few athletes that experienced a drop in performance after appearing on the cover.

If you listen to people it's Arthur Blank the owners fault, toss in Michael Vick and maybe even poor draft choices can be to blame. After looking over the situation though this franchise lacks direction and that starts at the top.
