It’s finally here. After two weeks of hype and build-up (and an uber-lame Pro Bowl somewhere in there), the Super Bowl is upon us. The Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers are set to kick off later tonight with the Lombardi Trophy on the line. If you missed them, here are my takes on the rosters of the Steelers and Packers. Now let’s get to some analysis!

When the Green Bay Packers started the season as everyone and their mother’s pick to be in the Super Bowl, it had that “Kiss of Death” feel to it. After injuries at key positions seemingly every week, there was no possible way the Pack could stay on the long road to Dallas… could they? Playing for their postseason lives since week 16 of the regular season, the Packers notched the wins and are now streaking towards the Lombardi Trophy. Let’s delve into the Green Bay roster.

It's fitting that in a game with over 1000 yards of offense, a defensive play decides the outcome. On the first drive of overtime, an Aaron Rodgers fumble was recovered by Cardinal Karlos Dansby and taken back 17 yards for the game-winning touchdown, eliminating the Packers from post-season play with a final of 51-45.

As far as I know, the Chicago Bears were supposed to play a game on Sunday. They were supposed to travel to Lambeau Field for a key contest that will surely factor in when determining the NFC North champion. Apparently, Lovie Smith’s team decided to take the day off. There is no other reason for only putting three points on a suspect Packer defense while giving up an astounding 200 rushing yards to a team that had an at-best average ground game. The Bears didn’t show up to play and the Packers took advantage.
