Reggie Bush

7 February 2010

If boyfriend Reggie Bush has a great day or gets injured (either one is likely), the curvaceous Kim could garner enough screen time to be the MVP. (Her looks don't hurt either.)

How many times will announcers mention Hurricane Katrina?

Drew must take advantage of that aggressive defensive line with dump-off passes to Reggie Bush and short throws over the middle. Speaking of Bush, he needs to have another Arizona-type game if his team is going to emerge victorious.

e gets the most airtime during Super Bowl analysis.) Between workhorse Pierre Thomas, the explosive Reggie Bush and short-yardage back Lynell Hamilton, they can find the endzone.

New Orleans' defense doesn't get a whole lot of attention, but they have their share of play-makers. Will Smith is a force at defensive end, racking up 13 sacks this season. Linebacker Jonathan Vilma led the team with 110 tackles but will need help over the top if he's expected to cover any of the Colt receivers. In the secondary, Darren Sharper is a ball-hawk, with nine interceptions. Every time he makes a pick he's liable to take it back to the house, but who knows how many opportunities he'll get (if any) against Peyton Manning.

They couldn't run the ball with any regularity or real effectiveness with Reggie Bush. When their defense wasn't stripping the ball from a Viking play-maker they were giving up touchdowns. A pass interference penalty set up a late Vikings score to even the game back up on the board. Brees spread the ball around to eight different receivers but no Saint had more than 4 catches or 40 yards. Not exactly a legendary effort, but a win is a win is a win. That city needed it and Sean Payton delivered.

tead of last year's 8-8, his team is hosting an NFC title game for the first time in their history. Reggie Bush's break-out game against the Cardinals must repeat itself this week against an aggressive Viking defense. Sean Payton's offensive line won't have to protect Brees for long with his quick release, but if they want to hit plays down field they'll need to keep defensive end Jared Allen occupied. With ball-hawking ex-Viking and Packer safety Darren Sharper in the Saint secondary, he'll be well aware of Favre's tendencies and ball placement. If they can manage just one turnover and give their offense an extra possession somewhere, the Saints will win.

Luckily for them Reggie Bush showed up with his bird-killing cleats on, leading the Saints to a 45-14 thrashing of the Arizona Cardinals to kick-off the Divisional round of the NFL playoffs.

Responding to the quick score, the New Orleans Saints proved why they were the number one seed on the NFC by scoring touchdowns on three straight possessions to give them a 21-7 lead before the end of the first quarter. Bush lowered the hammer on two early carries to set the tone early: these Saints would not be denied. A Beanie Wells score early in the second brought the Cardinals back into striking distance, but that would be the last time the Cardinals would hit the scoreboard. Their two turnovers killed drives and gave the Saints 14 points.

Brees hit eight different receivers for his 25 completions, utilizing the arsenal at his disposal. Reggie Bush had only five touches, making him an afterthought and a decoy in this Saints win. Sean Payton didn’t even need Bush to be successful. How impressive is that?

see Terrell staying in Dallas and finishing out his career; he likes being a Cowboy!

Reggie Bush had to undergo microfracture surgery on his left knee, rather than arthroscopic surgery.  The microfracture surgery is a more invasive procedure, where the recovery time is lengthier.  Bush has been a disappointment after his sensational rookie season.  This is just another major setback for Bush and the Saints.  This is not a surgery that many players return from in full form.  Good luck to Reggie!

Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush combined for 117 yards on the ground for New Orleans, giving them control over the clock, especially in the second half. Lovie Smith’s much-ballyhooed “Tampa-Two” defensive scheme was dissected by the opposing quarterback again this season, offering little in the way of actual defense. This system, as well as their roster is going to require a major overhaul in the off-season, and it’ll start with the defensive line. Anthony Adams and Israel Idonije took turns filling in for the injured Dusty Dvoraceck, coming up with big plays against the run. Unfortunately, Chicago’s pass rush only accounted for one sack of Brees, making it difficult to throw off the Pro-bowler’s rhythm. The coaching staff must make better adjustments at halftime and prepare for what the opposing team will do, instead of stubbornly sticking to their predictable game plans. When are they going to learn?

11 December 2008

Jeremy Shockey, Marques Colston, and Reggie Bush all have the ability to break down defenses in various ways, but it is Bush that will be the x-factor for the Saints. His triple threat as a running back, wide receiver and punt return specialist could expose the Bears’ defensive schemes if utilized correctly. Lovie Smith must ensure his defenders are put in the best position to make plays in order to give his offense enough possessions to match the Saints’ point output.

Each week, on Friday, I will look into my (never wrong, just misinformed) crystal ball and give my predictions for that weekend games.  I will always prognosticate on the Eagles and Cowboys games and then pick two more games of interest (to me, that is, not necessarily to you).  Keep in mind, that this is for entertainment purposes only, and that I do not endorse any sort of legal or illegal gambling.  That being said…let’s see what’s in my crystal ball!

They exploded onto the scene with new superstar Reggie Bush in their offense. They managed to make it all the way to the NFC Championship Game before falling to the Chicago Bears. 2006, was a great year for every New Orleans’ fan. However, 2007 was not so great. The Saints lost their first 4 games. In what seemed to be a meltdown, The Saints did everything they could to get back into the season. They finally were able to win a game. Not only that, they strung 4 wins together. They then lost 2. This pattern would continue until the Saints would finish the season with a 7-9 record and they would end up missing the playoffs as well. It wasn’t the year they were expecting and this year they must do everything they can to get back to being a contender.

Not that there's probably ever a downside to being seen in public with the lovely and talented Kim Kardashian, but my favorite guilty pleasure show TMZ caught a funny moment with the couple the other night. Reggie went to pay the valet but didn't have any cash on him. So, of course, he pulls some cash out of Kim's purse.
