Sam Bradford

9 September 2011

Luckily they still get to dominate the NFC West. Sam Bradford’s game has to take a leap forward to keep the Rams afloat. He still doesn’t have the receivers to put up gaudy numbers though. Mike Sims-Walker is a nice addition, but they’re missing depth at the position. Roger Saffold and Jason Smith are good tackles, but the interior of the o-line will have issues clearing lanes for Steven Jackson. Maybe Cadillac Williams can take a few carries away from Jackson to keep him healthier for a stretch run. As solid as the Ram defense was last year, they’re just not dynamic enough to hang in the NFL all year. Where are the freaking playmakers? Safety Quentin Mikell is a good safety, but not worth salivating over. The d-line isn’t fantastic either. I don’t have a lot to say about their defense. They’re that ordinary.

Rams that has given the Redskins such a headache over the past few seasons, but now that they have Sam Bradford at quarterback I expect those troubles to continue. Even after losing Steven Jackson to a groin injury early on, the Rams kept fighting and sealed the wiin by giving up just three points in the second half and scoring 17 of their own. They're not making a playoff push this year, but this is a win they can build off of. For the Redskins it was a ailed chance to keep pace in their division. There won't be any easy wins for them this year with the way their offense has struggled.

Louis Rams

When talking about the lowly Rams, number one overall pick Sam Bradford has to be first on your mind, and for good reason. After signing the most lucrative contract ever ($50 million guaranteed), expectations for Bradford will be similarly through the roof. The problem? He's still behind a porous offensive line that gave up four sacks on him during their first preseason game. Not exactly the best start. Right tackle Jason Smith (2nd year) starts at right tackle while rookie Rodger Saffold will be protecting Bradford from the left side. Young much? Piling on further pressure to Bradford is running back Steven Jackson, who, while still incredibly tough, isn't getting any younger. With only a few years left of Jackson in his prime, the Rams have to make these years count. Want even more problems? The Rams' wide receivers are hot garbage. While Bradford will probably start day one, I would be slower on the trigger. Unfortunately, the Rams don't have my patience or any slack at this point.

Quarterback Sam Bradford went to the Rams, Ndamukong Suh to the Lions and Gerald McCoy to the Bucs. After the known occurred, there was plenty to discuss. Here's what caught my eye from day one.

We all assume Sam Bradford is going number one overall to the Rams, but even Bradford doesn't know what's going to happen. The real question mark at quarterback is Notre Dame's Jimmy Clausen. If you look at which teams have needs at QB, Clausen shouldn't make it out of the top ten. Other reports have him falling into the 20's and perhaps even to 30 for the Minnesota Vikings, who would be ecstatic. Seattle (picks 6 & 14), San Francisco (13 & 17), and Cleveland (7) are my likely destinations for Clausen.

In an amazing display of terrible, brutal football my team is winless.  It's not like I'm knocking on the door or even pretending to be in close games.  I am BAD.  Brutal.  TERRIBLE.  I feel like the classic winless Bucs, not the Lions of last year.. the team that was so brutal when they asked their head coach, "What do you think of your team's execution?"  He replied, "I'm all for it."  That's how I feel with big name, little production players like Colt McCoy, Julio Jones, and Regis Benn leading the charge.  These guys are stiffs right now, Benn can't find the end zone with a map.  The last time Julio Jones scored gas was under $1.20 a gallon and the internet hadn't been invented yet.

strutting, or doing the Michael Irvin.

10.  Oklahoma wasn't exactly moving the ball before Sam Bradford's injury, so Boomer Sooner fans can lock it up about that being the reason they lost.  They couldn't block, they couldn't get a push, and nobody could get open.
