Tim Tebow

Not fair.)

The second half of this game was near useless unless you like seeing Tim Tebow get dropped on his ass every other play. (And I do.)  This wasn’t even remotely close to a competitive game. And I loved every minute of it.My results so far: 3-3

(13-3) New England Patriots
8:00 PM ET, CBS

Let’s just get this right out of the way. Tim Tebow probably played the best game I’ve seen from him against Pittsburgh, but that doesn’t mean it was all that good. It took him until overtime to complete his tenth pass, let’s all just remember that. I’m positive that Bill Belichick won’t play too much bump-and-run against Tebow’s nameless receivers (aside from Demaryius Thomas), instead he’ll opt to play off and keep those receivers in front of his (also nameless) secondary. Being without receiver Eric Decker will show. Willis McGahee is wearing down at this point in the year, so I’m not expecting a big game from him like the first time these teams met. New England’s issue will be manufacturing a pass rush against Tebow and not allowing him to find anyone deep (which is surprisingly where he actually can throw the ball somewhat on-target).

And guess what? Those new OT rules didn’t even come into play. One Tim Tebow pass, one Demaryius Thomas run after catch and major stiff-arm led to a Broncos overtime victory and insanity in Denver. As a ton of tweeters pointed out, the two players involved on that score are both Josh McDaniels selections. He’ll feel good about himself today. But where were the Steeler safeties? Oh, COMPLETELY OUT OF POSITION? That's cool.

on on Sunday, traveling to Denver to meet the best (and most run into the ground) story in the NFL: Tim Tebow. After taking over the reins for John Fox’s offense, the Broncos are 6-1 and lead the AFC West after starting the year 1-4. Will there be more magic in Denver or can Urlacher and the Bears keep Timmy in check? It’s time to break this one down!

uarterbacks in the NFL take to primetime hoping to prove they’re passable NFL signal-callers. Tim Tebow is 3-1 this season a starter and won his last start despite only completing two passes. Mark Sanchez is under fire yet again after getting shelled by the Patriots in what ended up being a blow-out loss at the Meadowlands. Thank you NFL!

Yeah Tim Tebow led a mind-boggling series of drives to come back from down 15 in the final three minutes, but he still looked like pure shit for three and a half quarters.  But, he did kiss Demaryius Thomas on the field after the win. Let the debate rage on! (Also, fire Tony Sparano right now.) (4-3) New York Jets 27

Okay, Tim Tebow has played in an NFL game. Can we shut up about him now? His two yards rushing doesn't exactly scream "start me!" The Bronco defense made David Garrard look like a decent quarterback. That's hard to accomplish. Moving on...

4 September 2010

In a tumultuous offseason, Josh McDaniels traded for QB Brady Quinn and drafted Tim Tebow out of Florida, adding some sizzle to the Denver QB derby. Eddie Royal and rookie Demaryius Thomas have to make up for the loss of Brandon Marhshall in McDaniels' offense which is dependent on short passes and runs after the catch. The Bronco running backs are struck with the injury plague, none more important than Knowshon Moreno, who can't stay on the field. The offensive line is always solid in Denver, but left tackle Ryan Clady's return from injury to the starting line-up in their final preseason outing was sorely needed.

n, but they should feel comfortable with Matt Hasselbeck under center with Okung protecting him.

-Tim Tebow is a Denver Bronco. After trading back twice in the first round and drafting wide receiver Demaryius Thomas, the Broncos traded back up to draft Tebow as their quarterback of the future before the Bills made their move. This is Josh McDaniels' giant middle finger to the rest of the NFL as he says "Watch what I can do with this guy." I feel bad for Brady Quinn, who might get the six games in-between Kyle Orton's tenure and the start of

likely destinations for Clausen.

Beyond the top two, we've heard Texas' Colt McCoy and Florida's Tim Tebow as second-round prospects. Now it seems likely that with the second round not starting until tomorrow, teams will trade back into the first round to ensure they take the QB they desire. Cleveland is being discussed as a player to move back up for McCoy while Tebow is being bandied all over the place. Tebow's agent told Pro Football Talk that they "pretty much know" where he'll end up. Denver is certainly in play for the Jesus of college football.

2.  You cannot convince me that Tim Tebow is an NFL QB.  I don't think that he has the footwork, touch or understands how to move through his progressions.  His biggest "asset".. his legs will not worry NFL defenses at all.  He's not explosive and could not take that pounding day in and day out.  He's a good story, but not a legit prospect.

ered T-Raz's brain.  Ever.  He's a man of hatred, plain and simple.  Sadly, for him, Tim Tebow's record setting day wasn't enough to put him over the top as Joe rode an Alabama defense to victory.  Pretty pathetic for T-Raz considering the fact that Joe got 0 points from his QB.  It looks like another sad season in T-Raz land; I guess he knows what it feels like to be a kid living in the ghetto with Christmas around the corner... he's down and out.

Jevan Snead takes over at QB after he dealt Tim Tebow to T-Raz. Bill picked up Ryan Broyles in the trade who gives him a lot of ammo at the WR position. A failed trade with Perrins and Bill have both of them reeling and Perrins crying in private emails around the league. Fortunately, those emails remain private so the league doesn't need to here his confessions. I'll bet it looks something like this. Anyway, Bill is off to a off start thanks to a flying and amped up South Carolina defense. Josh should get a big week from Blane Gabbert and he has a few backs capable of points in Nic Grigsby and John Clay.. as well as Ryan Williams. Smart money is on Josh this week, but you can't forget Bill just knows how to win. Spread: Josh -11.5

Did you know the Big 10 has been down for about 12 straight seasons according to the national media (ESPN) and ignorant football fans.. mainly in SEC territory?  So, Ohio State gets railroaded by one of the best teams in the nation yearly since Urban Meyer shows up, and that team features a QB some call "legendary" or the best ever in college history.  Michigan takes it on the chin against what some might call a semi-professional team (only semi because apparently some of the athletes are getting paid.. Reggie Bush?) and suddenly the conference is terrible.  They are slow.  They are mongrols; they can't throw the ball.. they can't stop the spread.

he lack of offense, both defenses came ready to play.  Two Sooner, first half interceptions on Tim Tebow equaled his season totals.  Two red zone stops against Oklahoma killed any momentum the Sooners hoped to bring into the locker room.  The game was tied 7-7 at the half, a far cry from the expected offensive output.

Dan Mullen, offensive coordinator for the Florida Gators recently announced that he would be leaving Florida at season’s end, if not sooner, to take the head coaching job at Mississippi State.  It is still unclear as to whether he’ll coach Florida in the upcoming national championship game.  It is also unclear what effect that will have on the Gators’ offensive game plan.

tscored their opponents 104-7 in the first quarter this season.  With his recent performances, Tim Tebow has thrust himself back into the Heisman race.  In his last four games, two of which were against LSU and Georgia, he threw nine touchdown passes and rushed for eight more.  The Gator offense with Demps, Rainey and Harvin is nothing short of scintillating and their defense has improved leaps and bounds over last year.  While the offense has scored 243 points in their last five games, equally as impressive is the fact that their defense has only allowed 57 points in that same span.  Brandon Spikes is fourth in the conference in tackles and seems to be involved in every play.  And Urban Meyer’s special teams showcases not only run backs from Brandon James but now repeated blocked punts and field goals.   Carlos Dunlap had two by himself last week.

look at track star Jeffrey Demps, who scrambled for a ten yard reception.  Shortly thereafter, Tim Tebow reminded the 88,000+ eager fans in the Swamp why he’s last year’s Heisman winner.  From the nine yard line, Tebow scrambled right, then left, on a busted option play to score what appeared to be a touchdown.  Instant replay revealed he had stepped out-of-bounds on the one yard line.  One play later and eighteen minutes into their season, Tebow handed off to Brandon James who scored the first of assuredly many Gator touchdowns this season.

highly anticipated 2008 campaign approaches, much ado continues to surround Florida Gator sensation Tim Tebow. In 2007, Tebow became the only sophomore in college football history to win the Heisman Trophy.  If his record-setting numbers on the field weren’t enough to secure him the award, his off-the-field character made him the overwhelming favorite.  Florida’s golden boy has at least one, and likely two more years running Urban Meyer’s high-powered offense.  And if Tebow’s performance to date isn’t enough to make NFL general managers salivate, another season similar to his last could conceivably have teams out of contention throwing games for a chance to select him with their top pick.  Sports talk shows in Jacksonville, Tampa and Miami consistently discuss the possibility of drafting Tebow.  Easy, fellas, he’s only a junior.

tinues to scour the nation for top talent.  Nobody would be surprised is Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow leads the Gators to another title.  Miami will have its hands full in the ACC, but should ultimately return to competitiveness under Shannon.  That will be no easy task as long as Clemson and Virginia Tech continue to field national championship contenders.  UCF and USF will continue their ascent to prominence.  However, Florida State may face more difficult times before any return to glory.  Bobby Bowden can obviously write his own ticket coaching in the stadium that bears his name.  Offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher has been tagged as his successor, but Bowden has set no definite timetable for his retirement.  Extended mediocrity for this program might warrant an exit sooner rather than later.  Nobody expects him to coach all that much longer, however repeated losses to Florida combined with Joe Paterno continuing to chalk up wins on the sidelines rivaling Bowden’s all-time wins might just extend his time on the sidelines.  One thing for sure, once considered one of the most intriguing match-ups of the calendar year, the Florida State-Miami rivalry has been relegated to just another regular season game.
