Tom Coughlin

That doesn’t sound like a Tom Coughlin team to me. They were better in pass protection, ranking 7th in the league with 28 sacks allowed. That allowed Manning to get the ball to his talented receivers which made up for the lack of production on the ground. Surging slightly in the postseason, the line has opened up more holes for the Giant running backs (even against San Fran), giving more balance to the offense.

After a late interception put him in field goal range, Tom Coughlin seemed content with simply running the ball and the clock down to about two minutes, then kicking a field goal. He didn’t even ask the third-highest paid player in the league (Eli Manning) to make a throw that could put the game out of reach for the threatening Chargers. Instead of going for the win, Coughlin settled for three points. He then watched Philip Rivers march his squad down the field with ease with no timeouts or opposition. That’s how you run a 2-minute offense.

what I thought were some fatal offseason mistakes, such as keeping
coach Tom Coughlin and failing to upgrade the secondary enough (I love
Aaron Ross, but could not believe they didn't add anyone else), I will
