Ted Thompson is a tricky guy. Last year's draft had me confused. I thought to myself, "A DT?" Really? I don't believe that was a need. Who knows Justin Harrell might become a Pro Bowler. I love James Jones. A nobody from San Jose State. I felt he was a great third receiver for the Packers. Jones was not a big name college star. Neither is the Packers first pick in 2008, Jordy Nelson. However, Nelson has speed and that could be big on Special Teams.

Hopefully, Brian Brohm will push Aaron Rodgers. I expect Rodgers to be the starter though. He patiently waited for his chance and now it has come. Brohm makes a solid back-up. If the Packers keep three qbs, Matt Flynn might make it. I can picture him on the practice squad.

I don't see any rookie making much of an impact this year. The Packers are pretty solid in all stating positions. It never hurts to add depth.

Continue reading "Dont judge the Packers Draft too quickly"

On Thursday night, Brett Favre appeared on the David Letterman Show. It was great seeing the former Packer quarterback again. It feels rather weird referring to Favre as a former quarterback. However, on Letterman he sounded as if a return was not out of the question. Mini camp is not something that inspires him to comeback though. He seemed rather happy not to have mini camp on Letterman. Around the time training camp rolls around, he might have an itch to play again. I would not have a problem with Favre coming back. I don’t think any Packer fan would.
Also on Thursday night, it was revealed Favre would grace the cover of Madden 2009. I do not know about you, but I will definitely purchase myself a copy. Well
Continue reading "Favre on Letterman"
